How we got into the Wall Street Journal
Plus, more of our morning routines
The backstory
Sometime earlier this summer, we were out for a walk with Boba and checking in on each other’s days when E said, “I talked to someone at the Wall Street Journal today.” Exsqueeeezeme? “Why?”
Turns out, E’s team at Leadpages put him forth for the interview to talk about what his work-life situation/balance/routines looked like one (plus) years into the pandemic. The journalist asked questions about the transition from WFH - which he was already doing a couple days a week before lockdowns - and as soon as he brought up getting a pandemic puppy, they ran with it. Turns out, a story about getting to sleep in, skipping workouts and not being able to turn off work and turn on home life gets a lot more interesting when you throw a puppy into the mix and have to change your habits.
We’ve always said we were morning people. And while the switch to WFH made us more mid-morning people, E shared in the article how Boba got us back into a routine that resembled more of our mornings pre-pandemic. Read it here, “Becoming a Morning Person Doesn’t Have to Be Hard.”
We get it - you can’t magically become a morning person. If you’re heading into fall feeling like you need some inspo on what a morning routine could be for you, this is what works for us. Here’s what a typical Wednesday and Saturday looks like for a weekday-to-weekend perspective. What’s the same? Spoiler, a lot of it.
